The taste is great, the wait was long, the bacon was perfect, but the steaks were not what were accustomed to in TX!!! We're carnivore, so 1/2" thickness just isn't our style! Overall, we were happy with our purchase.
This is my first time using a meat only meal service and as what I’ll call myself an early adaptor I have seen the progression of improved quality and better communication before order ships to update if needed, provides a shipping date, LMD (last mile delivery) has improved as well, every order received is stays frozen from Texas to Seattle Washington.
What’s in the box?: Perfectly cuts portions of steak, my favorite cuts are the Picanha cuts, the bone in pork chops(that’s where all the flavor is), the chicken thigh, and chicken quarters.
Options: Would be a nice addition to allow for specific cuts of favorite meat selections. Or if you get two or three meat boxes options to add more of one meat and preferred cuts, with the exception you still getting at least one selection from the other meats (6 cuts of Picanha, bacon, chicken tenders, just an example but this still keeps the order to the shipping weight)
And it supports a good cause to help veterans and retired athletes find purpose and service within their communities after they leave or retire.
First box was great! Nice thick cuts of Rib Eye Steaks and taste great!
Second box Rib Eye Steaks were definately a bit thinner cut and thought maybe just a fluke....still tasted alright but had to watch close to not get done to quick.
Third box Rib Eye Steaks were definately a bit thinner cut and figure first box was nice and thick to get you to come back and reorder.....still tasted alright but again, had to watch close to not get done to quick.
I am getting ready to order 4th box and if the Steaks are the same as 2nd and 3rd box, im done and will look elsewhere.
I would have definately give a 5 star if all boxes would be nice thick cut like the first box. But will see what bow number 4 looks like.
Number 1 for me !! I have tried 4 others and 8Primal meat is by far, hands down the best steaks!!
The burger patties are awesome. I'll review the other items i purchased when I've tried them.
So far the meat is excellent. The delivery box was torn upon arrival and a couple of cuts were beginning to thaw but most were still solid due to the ample dry ice.
3 boxes in and I'm always just as excited as when I received the first box. Big fan.
I would give five stars, but they sent me the wrong order. It’s now been two weeks since I’ve received a partial order and waiting.

I just received my first order, and I’m really impressed with the packaging and the quality of the meat. My box arrived quickly, and the meat was still frozen when I opened it. I ordered the 8-11 lb Primal Box with beef and chicken, and I loved the selection of different cuts. Overall, I am amazed by the quality of the meat compared to the meat I buy from my local grocery store. I will definitely order more soon!
I have purchased many other boxes of meat, but 8 Primal's meat in a box is the best! The only thing better is what I can get from my local farmers, but my family and friends eat a lot of meat, so 8 Primal allows me to fill the gaps.
Great product, well-packaged and shipped. Once thawed, the meat has a great texture and makes a very delicious dish when cooked. I love the product and highly recommend it for people who care about what they feed their family.
Would love to be able to select the cuts. Or at least the cuts I don't want like the sausage links. Love supporting the mission but don't want a bunch of meat I don't want to eat.

I tend to order most of my meat from Wyoming, Montana or a butcher in chicago. My sons confidents in Texas was accurate

"8-11 pounds of curated cuts" ended up being 1 actual steak, a couple roasts and a bunch of hamburger. For $198. I wanted to help out a fellow veteran but I feel like we got ripped off.
